Egypt is known as one of the top producers of pomegranates, with the crop thriving in the country’s warm, dry climate. Pomegranates are a popular fruit in Egypt, often used in cooking, desserts, and juices. The crop is mainly grown in the Nile Delta and the Upper Egypt region, where farmers use advanced agricultural techniques including drip irrigation and improved seed varieties. Pomegranate exports accounted for approximately 36% of Egypt’s total fruit exports in 2019, with demand increasing globally due to the fruit’s numerous health benefits.
